Candy corn — people either love it or hate it. According to new CivicScience data, among those who’ve tried the classic Halloween candy, 44% say they like it, marking a five percentage point increase in favorability since 2022.

Candy corn fans skew younger (ages 18–29), female, and from households earning under $100K annually. They’re also more likely to live in cities and the South—two regions that seem to embrace the sugary staple most.
But demographics aren’t the only thing setting candy corn fans apart from those who don’t enjoy this candy:
-
Pizza Lovers: Candy corn fans are about 20 percentage points more likely to say they like Pizza Hut and Domino’s than those who don’t like the candy.
-
Tech Readers: Roughly two in five fans read tech blogs online, compared to just one in five non-fans.
-
Holiday Spending: Among those who celebrate the winter holidays, candy corn lovers are more than twice as likely to say they plan to spend ‘more’ on gifts this year than last.
-
Social Media: Fans are about twice as likely to use Twitter/X at least once a week.
-
Sports Fans: They’re 11 percentage points more likely to attend sporting events monthly.
-
Fast Food Habits: Nearly six in ten candy corn fans eat fast food at least once a month, compared to about four in ten non-fans—aligning with their younger profile.
Love it or not, candy corn continues to spark strong opinions—and the data shows those who enjoy it have just as much energy off the holiday shelf as they do during Halloween. From pizza and fast food runs to tech reading and social media engagement, these fans are far from mellow about their tastes.
