With Spider-Man Day swinging into action on August 1st, a new CivicScience survey dives into who enjoys superhero movies. Based on responses from 1,640 U.S. adults between March 10 and July 13, 2025, the data reveal that 21% say they absolutely enjoy watching Spider-Man movies, 28% say somewhat, 24% say not really, and 27% not at all (excluding ‘no opinion’).
Where do you stand? Do you typically enjoy watching superhero movies?
Middle-income households are slightly more inclined to favor these films. Americans aged 18-44 show the highest interest, while enthusiasm declines with age. Those living in cities have a strong interest, and men are also more likely than women to enjoy superhero movies.
But demographics aren’t the only thing setting these superhero movie fans apart:
- Digital Local News: The biggest superhero movie fans are 10 percentage points more likely than non-fans to read a digital copy of their local newspaper.
- Online Discount Hunter Sites: They’re twice as likely to use discount hunter sites compared to those who don’t like these types of movies.
- Keto Diet: A third of strong fans have tried a keto diet, compared to just 14% of non-fans.
-
Trying New Foods: Those who show the strongest interest in superhero movies are roughly twice as likely to say they always try new foods.
