So, here’s the question for today: Are mermaids credible creatures or just a myth?
While you might think that this question is a no-brainer, think again. Ten percent of U.S. adults believe mermaids are credible creatures and another 13% are on the fence. Women make up about 60% of those in both camps.
From a survey running over the past year and a half to nearly 8,000 participants, here are some interesting traits for those in the believer’s realm.
- People who eat in upscale restaurants frequently are 3x more likely to believe in mermaids.
- Active snapchat users are 4x more likely to be believers.
- Augmented reality product owners? Yes, more likely to believe in these aquatic creatures.
- People who choose music and clothing based on social media recommendations also are highly likely to be in the believer camp.
If mermaids aren’t your thing, how about the Loch Ness monster? Real or myth? Cast your vote now.
